Third Beach (Pantai 3) Tanjung Aru — The Quiet End for Photographers
Last updated: October 2026
Third Beach, or Pantai 3, is the far, southern end of Tanjung Aru Beach. It is the least developed stretch and the one visitors pick when they want the fewest people and the most open horizon.
It curves toward the resort headland, so the light and reflections at sunset are slightly different from the busy First Beach lookout a kilometre north.
What to expect
Expect almost no stalls and minimal facilities — this is a bring-your-own-everything stretch. The trade-off is real quiet and uninterrupted views.
Because it is furthest from the entrance, allow extra walking time if you arrive by car and park near the main gate.
For photographers
The open sightline toward the sea and the resort silhouette makes this a calm spot for long-exposure sunset shots. Arrive well before golden hour and scout a clear stretch of sand.
Frequently asked questions
How far is Third Beach from the entrance?+
It is the farthest of the three sections, a flat walk of several minutes along the sand or path from the main First Beach gate.
Is it safe to walk to Third Beach alone at sunset?+
Stay aware of light fading and keep to the main beach path. As with any remote stretch, tell someone your plan and head back before it is fully dark.
